Description

To provide leadership, vision and expertise relating to FMDs accounting activities and financial operations.  Overseeing the development and management of staff in the accounting, financial analysis and accounts payable functions, the incumbent is responsible for establishing programs and activities that provide optimum service delivery to FMD, the university community and external stakeholders while ensuring stewardship of financial resources and improving accountability and transparency of financial operations. The position manages the development and maintenance of the divisions financial policies, procedures and controls.  The position directs the financial monitoring, forecasting and budgetary control activities affecting utilities, major capital projects, minor projects, and capital renewal and development funds and ensures financial monitoring of operating funds. This position contributes to the management of the division by providing appropriate information, reporting, advice and recommendations to financial managers, FMDs managers and leadership team, senior university management, Financial Services Division and Institutional Planning and Assessment.
