Description

Moose Jaw Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is seeking an individual to fill the position of: Family Separation and Reunion/Prevention, Support and Intervention Coordinator. The successful candidate will wear a huge smile on their face everyday; be outgoing, positive, creative, enthusiastic and committed to enriching the lives of Canadian Forces (CF) members and families. You will be responsible to the Executive Director for the delivery of the Family Separation and Reunion (FS&R)/Prevention, Support and Intervention (PSI) services for the CF community, with the focus on families. The position entails collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement support services related to the unique stresses associated with military lifestyle. Specifically, the management of outreach, information, support and assistance services that assist CF spouses and their families while the CF member is training, on temporary duty or deployed. The PSI Coordination requires working with families and individuals in the provision of educational initiatives and the continuation of supportive environments to protect families. Areas such as education and prevention, self-help groups, assessment and referral and short term intervention and crisis support are all part of this area. The incumbent will provide training and workshops in the areas of developing positive life and coping skills. Candidates will possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related Social Science, extensive training that is relevant to the position; a minimum of 2 years experience in a related field; experience in group facilitation and training; excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and an understanding of military lifestyle. Effective human resource management is an essential component of this position. Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
