The Manager of Procurement and Inventory Control will be responsible for the implementation of strategic purchasing systems and policies to ensure the achievement of overall business objectives. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are a self-starter who is accountable and highly motivated with a strong record in execution and achieving results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
> Developing, implementing and reviewing Procurement processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks
> Managing and developing vendors by establishing professional relationships, including partnerships with key suppliers and managing supplier interfaces through regular contact
> Developing evaluation criteria, qualifying bidder lists, issuing formal bid documents, analyzing, coordinating, recommending, awarding and implementing tenders
> Working closely with Division Managers to define, understand and meet complex and sensitive customer requirements for contracting and project procurement
> Developing and evaluating alternative sources of supply to ensure that our vendor base is kept dynamic and current based on changes in the marketplace
> Develop strategic inventory policies for stocking levels, replenishment/reclamation methods, storage, obsolescence and disposal
> Demonstrating an extremely high level of self-direction in all aspects of the position with the ability to effectively and efficiently manage the Procurement team deliverables
> Effectively leading a small team of individuals, monitoring their performance, providing coaching and mentoring, and ensuring that results are achieved
