Yorkton & Rural Service Area
Start Date: Dec. 8, 2014
The Intensive In Home Support Program focuses on providing supports & services to vulnerable & at risk families, through intensive home visitation & skills training and education, referrals & collaboration with other communituy services to assist the family to develop the abilities necessary to keep children safe & to keep the family intact when it is possible to do so.
Will work flexibly with full time Workers & the client families, primarily in the family home, & will assist in addressing identified family & individual needs.
The successful candidate should have the Education and Professional experiences of:
Post secondary education in a human service related field
Minimum of one year of experience working with various children and families
Valid Driver's License & a safe reliable vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
Criminal Records check & a Vulnerable Sector Check from the RCMP
Child Abuse Registry check from the Ministry of Saskatchewan Child & Family Services
Current Driver's Abstract from SGI
And the assets and abilities, inclusive of (but not limited to):
Availability & flexibility to meet last minute needs of the team & families
Ability to drive to the surrounding areas
Solid  knowledge & understanding of child development & how parenting & environment affects child development
Knowledge & understanding of how trauma & abuse can affect child & youth development
Basic knowledge of addictions & mental health issues & the effects on relationships & families
Ability to teach & motivate families for success & change with a strength based approach
Knowledge & respect of various cultural values & practices & the ability to develop trusting relationships with all families
Ability to document and report quickly & efficiently
Ability to communicate well & to work independently & constructively with a team
Strong time management skills
Ability to learn independently & to think critically and creatively
