This position is responsible for research, planning, development and implementation of Health programs for the LLRIB communities. The Director for the Health Services will carry out responsibilities as determined by the communities and the leadership. The Director will report to the LLRIB Executive Director & LLRIB Health Services Inc. Board of Directors with respect to the management and administrative matters.
Duties Include:
-Develop strategies for the enhancement and development of community health strategies to deal with on-going and emergency crisis needs of communities.
-Develop strategies as required, to address program or service changes made by the Federal Government or the Provincial Government, to the LLRIB leadership and/or Health Board.
-Provide the over-all management of all the Health Department employees of LLRIB.
-Prepare and/or ensure for the Annual Program and Service Audits.
-Ensure compliance of the terms and conditions as agreed to in the Health Transfer Agreements.
Qualifications:
-Minimum educational requirement is a bachelor?s degree in a Health Science, Public Health or Health Administration.
-Candidates must have at least 5 years of senior management experience in the administration of Health Services, preferably in the provision of community based health services with First Nations.
-Combination of equivalent education & experience may be considered.
-Ability to travel extensively.
