The successful candidate will be contracted to supply the following duties and services under the direct supervision of the Village Administrator and/or Mayor and Council:
-Attend Council meetings and other agency or organizational meetings as required and participate as part of the senior management team
-Research and apply for grants or programs which will increase employment or funding in the Community
-Preparing draft policies, procedures and bylaws for review by Mayor and Council. This may also include amending current policies, procedures and bylaws
-Ensuring that the current bylaws reflect the needs of the Northern Village of Ile-a-la Crosse and are in accordance with the Northern Municipalities Act, Provincial and Federal Legislation
-Create and maintain the Community Website and other Social Media
-Act as a resource person to other Community Agencies by providing assistance when required. (Fire Brigade, Police Board, Interagency, Library)
-Act as liaison to the Village Administrator, Mayor and Council on the status of the Public Works department through submission of monthly reports
-Assist the public Works department to create daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal work schedules.
-Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Minimum Post-Secondary Education preferably in Education, Business or Administration.
-Municipal Government or related Administrative and Financial experience.
-Valid Class 5 Drivers License, access to own transportation and the ability to travel.
-Have strong interpersonal, communications and public relations skills.
-Excellent planning, organization and project research skills and proposal development.
-Ability to work with Microsoft Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
-Knowledge of the Northern Village of Ile-a-la Crosse its residents, culture and traditions.
-Familiarity of the Northern Municipalities Act, 2010.
