Reporting to the Senior Mill Trainer, this position is responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities include:
Deliver training programs, hands-on training and record keeping for all areas of Mill Operations
Communicate with Trainees and develop their skills in safety, work processes and procedures, circuit knowledge, operating techniques, and record keeping
Liaise with the following departments: Human Resources, Site Training, Mill Operations, Metallurgy, Maintenance, Environment, Quality & Compliance, Radiation and Safety
Train Mill Operators and Utility persons in all facets of Mill Operations
Partner with Training Advisors to ensure compliance of the SAT program
Work with all levels of management to co-ordinate companywide training programs
Support Mill Peer Trainers in mentoring new Operators
Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Senior Mill Trainer
Efforts/Demands of the Position
Provide training to skilled and unskilled Operators in all facets of Mill Operations
Ensure the safe day-to-day operation of the Mill and associated areas
Strive for minimum radiation exposure
Must work with other departments to maintain operating efficiency
Ensure training programs are delivered to personnel in all areas of Mill Operations
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
7-10 years operating experience in a Process facility
Certification and/or proven experience in Adult Education Principles and Training Assessment Program design and implementation
Experience in training and working with Northern residents an asset
Proven computer experience required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Work Location & Schedule:
- 7 days in and 7 days out rotating schedule
- Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours is frequently required
