Porcupine Opportunities Program is dedicated to the belief that all citizens have the right to equal opportunities to participate in community life.  P.O.P. lives that belief and accomplishes that mission every day by providing a high quality of service for 35 clients with intellectual disabilities designed to meet their individual needs with a stable, viable, effective and efficient program.

The Program Manager will lead a team of 50 front line vocational and residential staff by reinforcing the philosophy of the program on a daily basis and fostering a healthy perception of intellectually challenged adults within the community.  Reporting to the General Manager, the Program Manager will ensure that all clients and staff are provided with the opportunity to reach their full potential by first identifying and second promoting each individuals: strengths; capabilities; and needs.


Other responsibilities include:

Developing, coordinating, and presenting Personal Program Plans for all clients on a regular basis;
Developing and monitoring all vocational, residential, social, and recreational programs for all clients on an ongoing basis;
Coordinating, supervising, and monitoring the medical needs of each client on a daily basis;
Managing all aspects of leading her/his team including: scheduling requirements; training; mentoring; personal development; and disciplining when required;

The Successful candidate will hold the following:

2-3 years experience in a related field;
Working knowledge of vocational and residential programing needs for persons with intellectual disabilities;
Related post-secondary education;
Level 3 certification from Community Living Services Delivery or Level 2 certification with the willingness to obtain Level 3.
CPR and First Aid training.
