Description

Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, the Human Resource Officer (HRO) will implement personnel management policies, practices and procedures on matters of staffing, classification, wage and salary administration, staff relations, employee benefits, staff training and development, human resource planning, grievances, performance appraisals and discipline. This position is responsible for providing services to approximately 200 full-time employees in the communities of La Ronge, Sucker River and Hall Lake.

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Coordinate staff recruitment  and selection process as outlined in the LLRIB Personnel Policy Manual;
- Advise the Director and Management Team on HR laws, regulations and trends;
- Implement the LLRIB salary grid by placing new employees on the appropriate grid level;
- Maintain employee benefits program and inform employees of benefits;
- Provide information and assistance to staff and supervisors on human resource matters and work related issues;
- Ensure legal compliance with federal and provincial requirements;
- Adhere to and enforce policies pertaining to the LLRIB Personnel Policy Manual;
- An understanding of labour and employment laws and legislation

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Degree in Human Resource Management or a Minimum of a Diploma in Human Resource, A CHRP designation is an asset;
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources;
- Excellent computer skills;
- Must be very professional and serve as a leading role model to all Department employees with the utmost professionalism, discretion and confidentiality;
- Dynamic, outgoing individual who is a strong team player with an ability to perform independently;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to resolve conflicts objectively and with understanding;
- Must have a valid driver's licence and own a vehicle.
