The Project Manager (Computer Systems Integration) is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the City of Lloydminsters system and subsystem requirements. This newly created position will work with Citys key internal customers to gather their business requirements, review the marketplace for suitable software products, guide the City through the software selection process, and manage the product implementation(s).
Specific responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the business units, lead, plan, organize, coordinate, identify and select the software products necessary to improve the Citys internal applications.
- Advise the Leadership Team to make the best decisions regarding the systems design, including support of current industry standards and future capabilities.
- Prepare design system requirements for Tender/proposal responses (RFP)
- Serves as the primary point of contact with vendors
- Manages scope, schedule and budget of system projects from start-up and validation, ensuring that projects run on schedule , are cost effective and meet the organizational objectives
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the project are consistent with policies and procedures in place
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience with information systems design, development, configuration, implementation and technical project management
- Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Experience in managing large information Technology or software related projects
- Superior communication and proven negotiation skills with customers, management, peers and subordinates
- Project Management Plan Certification is an asset
- Available to travel as required, by customer demands
