Description

The Prince Albert Daily Herald, part of TC Media, is seeking an energetic, creative, and dedicated media professional to join our editorial team as Reporter/Photographer.

TC Media is a leading edge media publisher with a network of newspapers, websites, and other media assets. Beyond being Canadas largest commercial printer, our publication arsenal includes newspapers and their associated websites; Moose Jaw Times-Herald, The Prince Albert Daily Herald, Rural Roots, Sask. News, Southwest Booster plus weekly publications across Saskatchewan. Still more than a newspaper publisher, we provide multi media advertising solutions that leverage an industry leading array of national brands; Canadian Living, The Hockey News, Occasions Magazine, Weblocal.ca, Yahoo.ca, and BidGo.ca just to name a few.

We are looking for people with a degree or diploma in journalism or a related field or prior experience. We need someone who is capable of writing three to four stories every day (this is a daily publication) as well as the ability to take great photos to accompany their stories. The role involves a 50/50 split between news and sports coverage, including back-up coverage of the WHLs Prince Albert Raiders and coverage of the thriving sports community in Prince Albert and area. Having your own photography equipment is a significant asset in being considered for this position.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, inquisitive, personable and able to concentrate in a busy work environment. He or she will require a current drivers license along with a reliable vehicle. A good working knowledge of the Internet and website back ends is an asset. A solid knowledge and aptitude with various social media platforms such as Twitter is also an asset.
We are looking for someone with fresh ideas and a desire to establish himself or herself in this business.
