Duties & Responsibilities:
- Gather, create and compile data for integration into the GIS and maintain regular upgrades to the system
- Organize and implement datasets for specific projects based on departmental needs
- Perform spatial and attribute data processing; data capture, cleaning, transformation, data analysis, reporting and mapping
- Manage the acquisition and distribution of digital data and mapping for customers
- Lead the Asset Management Working Group to utiize asset management strategies and best practices
- Develop and update Asset Management Plans and Asset Risk Reporting
- Research methodologies and tools to support lifecycle analysis and costing, etc
- Analyze data pertaining to assets to plan for future operations, growth, renewal and replacement
- Provide training on asset management principles and practices
- Annual strategic planning goals and objectives through the Asset Management Working Group.
- Prepare base maps to support Engineering staff
- Prepare detailed computer aided designs and drawings, quantity calculations, etc
- Interpret engineering drawings, registered plans and legal descriptions for GIS database development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Degree in GIS or a related discipline with emphasis on, and specific course work in GIS
- 3 5 years experience, or a related diploma with emphasis on, and specific course work in GIS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Map, Mapguide, AutoCAD Map 3D and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office
- Understanding of GIS theory and application as well as Asset Management principles
- Firm understanding of Information Services Corporation (ISC) Saskatchewan Land Titles
- Remain current with industry best practices as they relate to GIS and Asset Management.
- Possess and maintain RCMP Security Clearance
