Reporting to the Office Manager, the Office Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various accounting functions of four retail co-operatives with a combined sales volume in excess of $100 Million.
Duties in the area of purchases, sales, inventory, and reconciliations including:
- Customer Service
- Processing Accounts Payable
- Assist in the preparation of monthly accounting records and statements
- Assist with internal audits for departments
- Creating appropriate journal entries for general ledger accounts
- Assist with reconciliations and preparation of financial statements
- Work closely with all team members to ensure compliance on financial reporting and reconciliation requirements
- Correspond and interact within the association and with outside contact such as external audit and suppliers
- Other accounting and office related duties as required
Preferred candidate will have experience and education in administration or business field.
Qualifications to include:
- Data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good team building, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and multitask in a fast paced environment
