To undertake research on co-operative development activities in Canada and to compile a report integrating the results of this work with the research findings that will emerge from the rest of the Co-operative Innovation Project (CIP). The Research Officer will assist the Project Director in researching co-operative development activities across western Canada. Research may include, but is not limited to: interviewing co-operative industry representatives and co-operative development professionals; online research of co-operative development services, and assessing provincial regulatory and policy environments related to co-operatives and co-operative development. Some travel may be required from time to time; however the majority of research and interviews will be conducted via telephone and the Internet. The Research Officer will also be responsible for developing the initial draft of the final report on the CIP, a report that will integrate the findings of all the research being undertaken as part of the CIP. The Researcher Officer will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and will work out of the Centre for the Study of Co-operatives or other work space upon prior approval.
