Description

The Southeast Connection Sport, Culture & Recreation District is seeking a permanent full-time Coordinator - Community Development. Location: any community within the district boundaries - check website at www.southeastconnection.ca to view map. Current office is in Weyburn.

Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Director (ED), the Coordinator is responsible for community development and capacity building through facilitating the development and provision of sport, culture and recreation initiatives in south east Saskatchewan. This position builds and fosters relationships with communities and stakeholders, develops community networks, and is accountable for developing and meeting the outcomes of an annual work plan related to the strategic directions of the organization. This position undertakes community consultation and relationship building with key community members and stakeholders. To be effective in the role as Coordinator, travel will be required to designated rural communities in the District with coordination of scheduled meetings.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, implements, and directs the strategies, programs, and activities of Southeast Connection to achieve results consistent with the vision, mission, values, and strategic directions of the organization.
- Represents Southeast Connection and its membership in the areas of sport, culture and recreation and promotes for various campaigns.
- Provides advice and information to the membership

Qualifications:
Education and training: A post-secondary degree in Arts/Culture, Kinesiology or diploma in Recreation and Community Development or a related field of study.
Experience required: Minimum of three (3) years related work experience.
