The Family Literacy Facilitator and Literacy Instructor will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of Northlands College Literacy and Family Literacy programs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- promote and deliver quality family literacy programs and services;
- promote and raise awareness of family literacy programs and resources through publications, workshops, and community events;
- consult and work with community partners to identify gaps, opportunities and priorities for delivery of family literacy training, programs, and services;
- develop resources for the delivery of family literacy programs/services;
- strengthen knowledge base of family literacy practitioners and build capacity in the organization to provide quality family literacy programs and services;
- plan, deliver, and manage family literacy events within communities and online;
- develop, deliver and manage a Literacy Level 1 program for adults; and
- facilitate the delivery of Reading Horizons Online Reading Programs to adults; provide one-to-one tutoring using best practices in literacy delivery.
The minimal qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor of Education Degree;
- solid foundation in adult literacy best practices and delivery strategies;
- an aptitude for technology enhanced learning solutions;
- strong communication and organizations skills; and
- a valid Saskatchewan driver's license (travel is required throughout northern Saskatchewan)
