John M. Cuelenaere Public Library has an exciting full-time opportunity available in the Programs department. The successful applicant will have completed two years of full-time post-secondary education, or have completed high school with five years experience in a public library, and will work as part of a team to offer programs to people of all ages in Prince Albert.
Programmers at the Library spend a lot of time with the public. The successful applicant will:
* offer tours, read stories, plan crafts, lead author readings, and host events
* offer programs throughout the year, and the Library is looking for someone with innovative ideas and initiative to add to the team
* create advertising about library programs
* be an ambassador for the Library in the community and with partner organizations
* assist with other library duties, including circulation and information desk shifts, and collection development
* be friendly with good organization and communication skills
* have a good knowledge of computers and the Internet, especially social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest
Experience in these areas is also desirable:
* customer service
* adult education or public speaking
There is a comprehensive benefit package including salary of $16.49 per hour (from January 1, 2015) and health and dental coverage. Evening and weekend work is required for this position.
