The Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Saskatchewan has a full-time employment opportunity for an out-going and organized individual as a Settlement Advisor (SA). The SA will facilitate client needs will guide them towards their successful settlement. This full-time position is 35 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre- and Arrival services including welcoming newcomers and providing basic needs information.
Post-Arrival services including developing, monitoring, and revising client settlement plans; and facilitating access to language and employment services as well as other federal, provincial government and community services.
Maintain client/work files.
Accurate and timely reporting.
Information session and resource facilitation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The SA requires proficient knowledge of: immigration settlement programs and processes; office procedures, including reporting and planning; a non-profit work environment; Ukrainian newcomer needs, and should hold a post-secondary education in the social sciences, education, human services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The successful candidate shall have: fluency in English and Ukrainian languages; effective communications and interpersonal skills; strong computer skills in Windows OS and MS Office; effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to maintain a high level of privacy and confidentiality; attentiveness to detail/accuracy; effective time management skills; a current drivers licence and car.
