The MEND 7-13 Theory Leaders primary responsibility is to successfully deliver the MEND nutrition and mind theory sessions to children 7-13 years of age and their families.
Main Responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including, but not limited to the following:
Required to commit to approximately 43 hours per MEND program over a 10 week period, which includes:
Responsible for leading 18 Nutrition and mind Sessions
Responsible for accurate collection and recording of childrens data at two Healthy Growth Checks sessions (measurements of height; weight; waist circumference).
Responsible for facilitating the parents discussion sessions.
Plan and participate the MEND Graduate Group Reward (held after the end of the program).
Required to attend the equivalent of 2 days of training. (January 2015)

experience:
Have a background in one of the following areas: physical activity, nutrition, early childhood education, behavioural health psychology, or health promotion.
Experience in working with children between the ages of 7-13 and their families
Be able to motivate and facilitate behaviour change in families
Work with diverse populations
Education and Qualifications:
Prefer current post-secondary education students/graduates within the Colleges of Kinesiology, Nursing, Pharmacy and Nutrition and Education.
Must attend a 2 day MEND Theory Training and pass the post training assessment
Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal records check (including vulnerable sector) prior to start of employment.
