Description

Postmedia Network Inc. is seeking an Editor to drive innovation, engagement and audience growth at the Regina Leader-Post, southern Saskatchewans leading media brand.

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice-President, Editorial, the Editor is responsible for delivering on the Leader-Posts commitment to high-quality, in-depth journalism and innovative approaches to new forms of digital content. An entrepreneur and a leader, the Editor will embrace new ideas, challenge convention and come with a successful track record of delivering outstanding editorial products for a range of audiences across multiple platforms.

The successful applicant requires a sophisticated understanding of how todays audiences connect to content through new technologies and must be comfortable working in a rapidly evolving media landscape. He or she will work closely with Postmedias functional departments across the country, including advertising, marketing, and editorial to build new products that engage, surprise and delight audiences and clients.

The applicant will be part of the senior management team at the Leader-Post and will play a leadership role across all departments. He or she will also be the public face of the Leader-Post, representing the publication at a wide variety of community events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated leadership experience in an editorial environment
An impressive history of involvement with digital products
Extensive experience working in a news-producing environment
Ability to embrace change and respond nimbly to an evolving media landscape
Excellent team leadership skills
Ability to operate at both the strategic and operational levels of the organization
Record of making a significant impact on a large organization in a short period of time
Proven organization, communication and multi-tasking skills
