The Bartender is responsible for preparing and dispensing liquor, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages to casino guests in accordance with liquor regulations and guidelines as well as internal policies and procedures. The position acts as a representative of SaskGaming by engaging guests as per service standards, handling intoxicated guests with tact and diplomacy, providing general information and processing transaction using a POS system. The Bartender maintains inventory and stock rotations, prepares and cleans the bar and work area, and will be expected to keep current with new drink recipes in the industry. This position reports to the Operational Shift Manager.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year experience providing customer service, handling and balancing cash or monetary transactions.
Competencies:
Using a variety of assessment tools such as in-person interviews, written examinations, role plays and reference checks, candidates will be assessed against the following competencies:
* Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations
* Skills in communicating effectively, courteously, and respectfully with SaskGaming guests and co-workers
* Ability to demonstrate and adhere to principles of teamwork
* Knowledge of and ability to understand and adhere to guest service standards
* Knowledge of standard practises and procedures related to preparation and service of beverage and food items, including recipes, bar stock and service etiquette.
Conditions of Employment:
You will be required to obtain and maintain a Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority - Gaming Employee Certificate of Registration. You will be required to work shift work which includes evenings, nights and weekends.
