We are currently seeking a dynamic polished individual for an Accounting Team Lead here in Lloydminster. This is a full time permanent position with full benefits after 3 months.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Understand and comply with company policies and procedures
Assist in the client, internal and external audits and operations
Ensure all contractual obligations for project accounting are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner
Work closely with clients and address any issues
Provide leadership and mentoring to the project accounting team
Provide day to day guidance to the team for problem solving
Manage the distribution of tasks among team members
Participate in monthly and weekly review meetings and organize weekly team meetings
Participate in the performance evaluation of staff
Develop project specific processes to meet the project\client requirements
Participate in the project setup process in JD Edwards and work with project controls to ensure accurate setup is in place
Review the invoices prior to approval
Review and approve payable batches for processing
Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree/Diploma in Accounting or related discipline
Professional Designation CA, CMA, or CGA preferred
Minimum 5-7 years experience in accounting
Understanding of GAAP and IFRS and Construction Accounting
Analytical, self-motivated problem solver with ability to think outside the box
Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication
Knowledgeable in accounts payable and receivable, payroll and employment standards, union agreements and different types of construction contracts execution
Proficient in Microsoft Applications especially (Excel, Word & Outlook)
Experienced in use of ERP system (JD Edwards)
