Description

Northern Blizzard Resources Inc. is a publicly traded Canadian company based in Calgary, Alberta. Northern Blizzard was founded in late 2009 and is engaged in the exploration for and the acquisition, development and production of petroleum and natural gas reserves in western Canada.

We are currently seeking to fill a Senior Operator (Foreman) position at our Viking facility.  This position will report to the Superintendent, Viking and key responsibilities will include;

- Providing leadership to the Viking operations team,
- Supervising daily production and operational activities,
- Applying full understanding of the Safety Management System to daily activities of staff and contractors,
- Compiling monthy accrural information and report on monthly variances,
- Working as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team with the safety, production engineering, environment, procurement, land, accounting and maintenance functions,
- Identifying and make recommendations for cost reduction and production enhancements through procedural changes or the use of new technology,
- Implementing Operator training and development plans (OTCP).

Besides being both an independent self starter and a team player, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

- 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with facility related experience in oil treating, oil volume testing and gas measurement in the Viking area,
- Extensive downhole knowledge in operating horizontal production wells,
- Knowledgeable and up to date on regulations for Viking oil and gas production,
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a hands on approach,
- Excellent communication and organizational skills,
- Good initiative, problem solving and decision making,
- Above average MS Office and general PC skills,
- Completion of the Heavy Oil Operations Technician program is considered an asset.

 - Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
 - Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
 - Industrial First Aid Certificate
Additional Skills
 - Write production logs
 - Participate in safety audits and programs
 - Participate in training of other workers
