Description

To provide leadership within the Science Library to ensure the smooth and effective operations of the branch and the provision of high quality client service to the U of S community and external users.
Reporting to the Head of the Science Library, the branch supervisor works closely with others in a team environment. Duties involve frequent interaction with students, faculty and/or visitors as well as supervisors, peers, staff, etc. The work is moderately complex, highly detailed, with considerable intellectual demands; sound judgment and decision making is required on a daily basis. The ability to work effectively in an evolving and innovative environment and balance competing deadlines, priorities and tasks is essential. The need to be flexible to meet expectations is required. The incumbent works independently, with guidance from the Branch Head when necessary to determine appropriate actions for more complex tasks and problems. The incumbent requires a detailed working knowledge and understanding of the resources and functions of the Science Library to ensure that service standards are met.
