Responsibilities:
-Assists in the implementation and evaluation of the Hy-Tech Occupational Health & Safety Program and safety strategies.
-Engages with Foreman on a regular basis to provide leadership, guidance and mentoring on safety and training issues.
-Works with Senior Management to develop and promote strategies for enforcing safety standards and regulations at the drill sites.
-Investigates and documents safety incidents, define root cause analysis of incidents, resolve, remediate and communicate findings.
-Engages in timely and appropriate communications with all employees, foremen, managers and other stakeholders, in order to build relationships and better understand the health and safety needs of the organization.
-Develops and implements correction plans, and assists in providing solutions to eliminate or mitigate workplace hazards.
-Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment and practices in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Reports findings to Senior Management for review and follow up.
-Manages emergency preparedness programs that ensure that the drill sites are able to react systematically and effectively in a crisis.
-Works closely with the Trainer to develop safety training strategies and courses for the field crew.
-Actively participates in the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
Experience & Qualifications
-Experience in the Diamond Drilling Industry (or equivalent) is required.
-3-5 years of related field experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role in a large company is preferred.

The successful candidates salary will be based on their experience and qualifications. Travel will be required and candidates can anticipate that 50-60% of their time will be spent in the field.
