Reporting to the VP Finance, you will support corporate accounting functions and strategic priorities relating to the management information system, financial accounting and reporting systems, and internal controls for accounting and information reliability. You will supervise a small work group and provide leadership within Finance.
Duties include:
Assisting in ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Improving quality of financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for reporting
Supervising and training staff
Conducting account reconciliations and analysis
Assisting with monthly and yearly closing
Contributing to the preparation and evaluation of budgets and reports
Preparing various accounting reports for management along with suitable observations
Assisting in the management of operational data, maintaining data accuracy and integrity
Participating in or leading a variety of costing, computer system, and finance projects
Qualifications:
Degree related to Finance or Accounting plus education and/or experience with costing and financial accounting and information technology required
Professional accounting designation, either completed or in progress, is an asset
Leadership and supervisory ability
Strong communication skills
Experience in a manufacturing enterprise utilizing an ERP system is an asset
