Description

Join a reputable and well-established construction firm, with offices in Saskatoon and Regina.  

As Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will lead and provide maintenance/repair of the firm's heavy duty construction equipment.  

If you are ready for a role that allows you to be at home each night with your family, this is the one for you!    

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy duty equipment used for construction of residential/multi-family units.  
- Repair and install electrical systems and components such as ignitions, electrical controls and computer controlled components.
- Repair and rebuild diesel engines, steering, suspension, braking systems, etc.
- Maintain a log of work performed, materials and time for each project.  
- Order materials and equipment required for maintenance and repair work.
- Perform on-site repairs to equipment when necessary.
- Attend safety meetings, maintain an up to date knowledge of, and model company policies and safety procedures at all times.

Education:
- 4th year Apprentice or Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic.

Experience:
- Related experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic.   Experience with construction equipment is desired.
- Ability to diagnose, repair and install according to the manufacturers specifications.

Personality/ Desired attributes:
- Problem-solver and critical thinker, with a strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
- High commitment to safety and teamwork.   Able to work with minimum supervision to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and repairs.
- Able to work quickly yet attentively to ensure equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
