Description

The primary function of this role is to utilize the company's accounting policies and procedures to prepare accurate and timely progress billings for assigned projects.
The Role:
Ensure that all team members (in particular, Job Cost Administrators and Junior Project Accountants) responsible for reporting to the client and management are provided with historical accounting information required to meet reporting requirements
Participate in project setup discussions, facilitate required productivity analysis and performance measurement and projected status as called for based upon the project size and commercial terms
Support billing clerks
Recognize indicators which might suggest current action may be required to prevent future problems in accounting deliverables
Review and test data recorded and evaluate for reasonableness and reconciling as required to ensure reporting is prepared to accepted accounting standards
Ability to guide new problems into assigned work tasks in accordance to established project protocol, thereby ensuring orderly completion of previously assigned tasks
Training and supervision of job cost accountants
The Ideal Candidate:
Post secondary diploma or degree  
5+ years previous accounting experience, preferably in a project environment, cost accounting, financial analysis and reporting  
Enrollment in a recognized accounting program, or have completed an accounting designation
Construction of manufacturing experience is preferred
