As a member of the MJHA Property Services team, the
Journeyman/woman Carpenter-Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for assisting in
maintaining the highest possible standard of maintenance and
repair of all property managed by the Moose Jaw Housing
Authority.
This is a permanent full-time position with regular hours of
work being as per the current Collective Bargaining
Agreement.
POSITION REQUISITES
The Tech 3 will possess the following:
Education/Experience:
-Journeyman Carpenter status plus five (5) years experience;
-Possess a valid firemans certificate;
-Possess a valid WHMIS certificate;
-Demonstrated knowledge of technical developments,
advances in practices, equipment, supplies and regulatory
codes and laws (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, National
Building code, municipal by-laws).
Demonstrated abilities:
-Good general and trade-specific knowledge of building
maintenance and construction, and equipment maintenance;
-troubleshoot and problem solve building components and
equipment at an advanced level;
-knowledge and/or experience in working with seniors and/or
typical tenants;
-work effectively in a team-based environment.
Other Requirements:
-have a reliable vehicle for daily use;
-valid drivers license with clean abstract;
-clean Criminal Record Check.
Physical Requirements:
-be able to walk from the 1st to the 16th floor in any M.J.H.A.
building;
-be able to lift 35.0 kg several times daily;
-be able to walk a minimum of 5 km daily.
**Note: The above physical requirements will be tested on a
periodic basis**
