Weyburn Regional Economic Development (WRED) is the agency responsible for advancing economic development and tourism in the Weyburn region.
WRED creates and implements economic strategies to grow and sustain prosperity in the Weyburn region. This is accomplished through promotion of the region for business investment and labour force attraction. In collaboration with tourism industry partners, WRED also works to promote Weyburn as a destination for visitors.
Position
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the marketing, advertising, social media and digital media strategy of the organization.
Responsibilities
Provide marketing and communications expertise and guidance in the development of the annual marketing plan. The Marketing Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the annual marketing plan.
Including:
Maintain and update websites
Assist with social media monitoring and postings.
Develop marketing communications strategy & campaigns.
Manage the design and distribution of digital and print marketing materials.
Identify and implement new marketing opportunities.
Source out advertising opportunities, and coordinate media buy.
Assist with market research and data collection including maintenance of an informational database.
Event coordination
Develop advertising opportunities and coordinate sales.
Prepare news releases, advisories, backgrounders, and other written media materials.
The Marketing Coordinator may also be required to represent the organization at relevant conferences and trade shows.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent academic qualification in marketing (preferred), business or communications.
