Description

The Community Health Nurse is accountable to and is directly supervised by the Manager of Health & Social Development with overall accountability to the Finance and Admin portfolio.  The Community Health Nurse position is a challenging and exciting opportunity to utilize your Nursing knowledge and skills working with First Nations people and a team of dedicated health care workers. The primary role of the position will focus on health promotion and illness prevention within a Primary Health Care Model.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in nursing from a Canadian University or a recognized equivalent or a Diploma in Community Health Nursing from a Canadian university or a recognized equivalent
Consideration may be given to candidates who have a diploma in nursing from a recognized nursing education program and willing to take necessary training
Working with First Nations is an asset but not required
Must be a registered Nurse
Currently registered or eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association
Must have a valid Driver's License
Must have CPR BLS Level C
Must have experience in Public Nursing
Must be willing to work flexible hours
Must have experience in Computer basics, word processing, e-mail, internet, etc.
Must have a minimum of one year's experience in Nursing
Poof of education and occupational certification will be required
Must submit a Criminal Record Check (CRC)
Must submit a Drug Screen Test
