In a 1 week rotation: 5 shifts of 7.50 hours

Job Summary:
Reporting jointly to the Director of Labour Relations and Director of Workforce Planning and Staffing, the Human Resources Consultant is one of a team providng a coordinated approach to labour relations and human resources issues.

This position provides support in a specific portfolio of labour relations, and would be responsible to look after grievance handling, collective agreement and policy interpretation, providing conflict resolution expertise and promoting harmonious relationships between the employer, employees and the union. the successful incumbent is also responsible for administering and coordinating the out-of-scope compensation and job evaluation programs. The HR Consultant corodinates the Manager Education & Orientation programs for managers throughout the region.

The location of the position is preferred to be in the Lloydminster office; however, travel throughout the region will be required.

Qualifications:
A University degree in Commerce, Human Resource Management and/or several years experience in Human Resources/Labour Relations.
A minimum of one year related experience would be an asset.
An ability to lead the change process within the areas of responsibility.
Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively.
Ability to analyze delicate Human Resources/Labour Relations problems and recommend solutions.
Ability to deal effectively in a variety of situations, maintaining fairness and diplomacy in dealing with applicants, employees and managers.
Ability to independently establish priorities and meet deadlines is required.
