Manager of Twin Lakes District Planning Commission (TLDPC)
The TLDPC is Saskatchewan's newest regional planning district located in the heart of northeast Saskatchewan. The region has experienced tremendous growth in the last few years and is positioned to continue this growth for the foreseeable future. Nestled in between Codette and Tobin Lakes, you will work out of the Nipawin office in a fast passed and professional environment.
The TLDPC requires an enthusiastic, forward thinking, and proactive candidate that will provide technical and administrative support while working collectively with the nine municipal partners of the TLDPC. The position offers a great experience for those just out of university or those looking to further their career as a professional planner.
Duties & Tasks
-Efficient & effective administration of all aspects of rural & urban planning through a regional perspective.
-Review & provide recommendations on a variety of planning applications as a Development Officer, such as development permits, rezoning and subdivisions approvals, textual amendments & other requirements pertaining to approved development in regards to the District Official Community Plan (DOCP)
-Responsible for subdivision & re-subdivision design, street & lane closure procedures, collecting, assembling & analyzing planning data.
-Responsible for preparation of various reports, draft bylaw amendments & other planning legislation for municipal councils, at their request.
-Research & carry out special projects related to housing, recreation, transportation, urban design, & community development for the TLDPC municipal partners.
-Participate in studies related to the Twin Lakes Official District Community Plan & Zoning Bylaws, Business Improvement Districts, core areas, Town neighbourhoods, & historic, industrial, institutional, & commercial areas.
37.5 hour work week. Some evening & weekend work required
