Description

Under the supervision of the Manager, Lloydminster Cultural & Science Centre, the incumbent will provide a broad range of support in all areas of museum operations and museological practice.  The LCSC looks to enrich our collections, exhibitions, and operations with your research and knowledge. Specific responsibilities include:
- Writes and administers grants for museum collections, conservation, exhibitions, and related projects;
- Coordinates, schedules, and supervises staff;
- Provides input on employee performance reviews
- Works with museum staff to catalogue in the Virtual Collections database; researching, documenting, and interpreting the collection;
- Provides advice & direction regarding the storage, presentation, installation and reproduction (printing, scanning, etc.) of objects in the collection;
- Develops temporary exhibitions as well as Web projects;
- Interprets and presents our communitys history through programs and exhibits that educate audiences of all ages;
- Participates in institutional planning and budgeting process;

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or Diploma in Museum Studies, History, Material Culture, or relevant field is required along with a minimum of 1 year experience working in a public museum.  Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Experience and knowledge in museum standards and best practices, exhibitions, cataloguing, conservation and storage practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professional and tactful in dealings with donors, volunteers and the public
- Experience with community work, historic interpretation, and knowledge of material culture
- Must be able to provide and maintain a clean Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector check.
- Must have access to a vehicle for travel throughout the City
