The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall function and success of the Volunteer Program in addition to providing administrative support for SFBLC. The Volunteer Coordinator creates a welcoming and engaging environment for all visitors to the SFBLC. The position is familiar with the overall operations and needs throughout the organization and communicates with each department accordingly. The position will take initiative to develop opportunities for new partnerships for service learning and work placements and facilitates rewarding and meaningful volunteer placements.
Volunteer Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating facility rentals. When required, the Volunteer Coordinator will assist project coordinators with administrative support and provide relief to the receptionist for breaks and absences.
The Volunteer Coordinator position is structured as a job-share arrangement with two positions each working part-time hours to add up to the equivalent of a full time position.
Terms of Employment:
* Part time, approx. 15 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8 to 4
Qualifications:
* Certificate in Volunteer Management or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences, or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Experience working in the community sector
