Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the management of daily site activities as well as overseeing all sub trades. The Site Superintendent is expected to direct sub-contractors, suppliers and other relevant entities in a safe and effective manner conducive to the project documents. The candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and General Superintendent as a crucial part of the construction project.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of the project schedule
Review drawings and specifications and make suggestions on design, schedule, possible cost savings and potential problems.
Review the construction budget with General Superintendent, Project Manager and Construction Manager
Take care of initial site setup and demobilization
Communicate with design/consulting team
Contact and coordinate with sub-contractors, suppliers and utilities
Monitor and enforce construction schedule
Bring issues forward at meetings and through phone/email
Work with Project Manager on errors, discrepancies and omissions on the construction drawings
Maintain and enforce the site safety policies as well as the Occupational Health and Safety act
Enforce quality workmanship and hold the sub-contractors to a high standard of construction
Coordinate all required inspections
Maintain good site housekeeping
Ensure all tools, equipment and other belongings are properly cared for and maintained.

Qualifications:

Excellent organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills
Possess good leadership skills and a willingness to learn and grow
Must have previous experience in the Commercial Construction Industry
A background in trades or engineering/architecture
Understanding of construction terminology, scheduling and planning
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
Must hold a valid drivers license and have own transportation to work.
