Description

Captive is seeking a Web Developer to join our online creative team. Our fast paced and innovative environment will allow the accumulation of knowledge and the building of efficiencies that are needed to excel in the field. The winning candidate will have to  display flexibility, proven ability to work on their own and on a team, solid process, workflow, efficiencies, and display great problem  solving skills and critical/divergent thinking.

Basic Qualifications

-  Post-secondary education in computer science or equivalent work experience.
-  Experience developing web applications with the ability to show examples of your previous work.


Professional Skill Requirements

-  Javascript and Javascript libraries.
-  In-depth PHP experience. Experience using MVC frameworks is a plus.
-  Ability to create well-organized CSS either using Sass or by hand.
-  Strong MySQL experience.
-  Experience using Linux in a server environment.
-  HTML5 experience and knowledge.
-  Excellent communication (written and oral).
-  Ability to use Photoshop and related tools (splicing designs, etc.).
-  Knowledge and experience in source control tools (specifically GIT).
-  Knowledge and use of the Mac platform.


Bonus, but not required skills

-  iOS development experience using XCode and Objective-C.
-  Android development experience.


Responsibilities

-  Produce clean, well-documented and maintainable code.
-  Follow Captives project life cycle from beginning to end.
-  Follow Captives process and procedures to ensure a high quality of work is executed and delivered.
-  Must be able to work on multiple projects and manage time properly.
-  Work along side the creative team.
-  Communicate with clients as necessary.
-  Must be a quick problem solver who takes the pro-active and smart approach.
-  Willingness to learn new technology and skill sets is a must.
