Northlands College is a leading employer in northern Saskatchewan for both instructional and non-instructional jobs and careers. We have campuses in various communities across the north and have built strong partnerships with agencies and institutions to provide well-rounded programs and courses.
The instructor will provide classroom and practical instruction to trainees in the Mine Simulator Training program. Areas of instruction include: mining techniques, scoop tram operation, and drill operation using the simulators. The successful candidate will receive training in the Master Driller program from Atlas Copco prior to the program commencing. Applicants must be prepared to train, supervise, and evaluate students, assist in updating training material; monitor work placements; liaise with industry personnel; and provide reports as required. Additional responsibilities include: classroom management; taking attendance and submitting it to the Program Assistant on a regular basis; monitoring student progress, and submitting reports to the Director, Northlands College Mine School on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are a Diploma in a mining related field with a minimum of two years of experience driving underground haul trucks and working at a mine site. The successful candidate will also possess strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
A valid driver's license is required.
