Description

Nipawin Public Library requires an Assistant Librarian with enthusiasm and a passion for delivering library programming using a creative approach.  Computer knowledge is required, as is a keen interest in literacy.

DUTIES:
-  Accurate shelving of materials
-  Assisting patrons in locating materials
-  Assisting with developing and delivering library programming
-  Assisting with the effective operation of the library, including circulation, reference and mail
-  Performing book repairs
-  Other duties as assigned by the librarian

Responsible for working some evening shifts and Saturdays.  

This position is for 27.5 hours per week.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
-  Must have a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent; more education is considered as asset
-  Keen interest in books
-  Some skill in typing and computer knowledge
-  Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
-  Ability to establish good work relationships
-  Ability to work with the public
