We are a progressive, thriving, community-based school division currently seeking to fill a full time permanent Journeyman Electrician position with duties to commence as soon as possible. This position may be based out of our maintenance shop in Melfort and will service the division.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, providing support to the Maintenance Manager and Facilities Foreman through electrical code interpretation, facility electrical upgrades, project planning and budget management at 22 schools, bus garages and office buildings, as needed. A Division vehicle will be available for travel throughout the school division.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Single Phase and Three Phase Systems 24V, 120V, 240V, 347V
Knowledge of electrical circuitry
A minimum of two years as a journeyman electrician is required
Knowledge of building codes and construction are an asset
Minimum Firemans Certificate would be considered an asset, but not necessary
Knowledge in refrigeration and Boiler operation
Knowledge in the operation of HVAC systems
Knowledge in the maintenance of school buildings and grounds
Good organizational skills
Commitment to task completion
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Good driving record
A Comprehensive Benefit and Pension Plan package included. Salary will be commensurate with experience and training and range from $30.24 - $33.43 per hour.
