Description

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is now inviting applications for (1) one Permanent Part Time Aboriginal Headstart Assistant/Van/Bus Driver to work (18 hours weekly) in the community of Little Red River The successful candidate will be required to assist in the program delivery of the Aboriginal Head Start Program.

Duties:
- Maintain Van Driver endorsement;
- Maintains constant supervision of indoor and outdoor activities;
- Develops problem solving with all children;
- Works with parents and providing proper guidance for the children;
- Follows vehicle policy manual including log book use;
- Follow the procedures outlined in the staff/parents handbook;
- Responsible for minor Van maintenance;
- Ensure child restraints are used when required;
- Ensures safety of playground and playground equipment;

Qualifications:
- Must possess a Valid Van Endorsement (ability to drive 3-4 year old preschoolers);
- Use skills and interventions to meet physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the children;
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract upon hire;
- Ability to speak/understand Cree and/or knowledge of the Cree Culture is an asset;
- A valid Frist Aid & CPR certificate is an asset.
