PURPOSE/GOALS
The Outside Sales position is responsible for prospecting and maintaining customer accounts, for maintaining a clean Trial Balance of outstanding payments due, for entering quotes and orders for customers, and for completing various other internal Ply Gem paperwork. The Outside Sales representative is the face of Ply Gem to the Customer and the Industry, and so is expected to be involved in local Industry associations and activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain an active prospecting strategy to attract new customers to Ply Gem
Timely and professional servicing to maintain and grow existing account base
Manage the blueprint takeoff process, and quoting & ordering processes through self-action or via Inside Sales assistance.
REQUIREMENTS
2-3 years previous outside sales experience or 2-3 years experience with Ply Gem Inside Sales or equivalent
Previous experience in window and/or residential construction industry an asset
Strong computer skills in a Windows environment, with experience with Microsoft office programs.
Reliable personal transportation with good driving record required and valid drivers license
Ability to read blueprints and construction plans an asset
Post-secondary education, preferably with an emphasis on marketing/business administration
Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Outgoing and personable personality
Professional in appearance and conduct
Strong relationship selling abilities.
Involvement with networking and associations involving industry partners and customers.
