Description

Overview:

The New Business Technician (NBT) is responsible for completing all system updates and investigation required to support the application during the underwriting cycle of a new business application. This is a highly technical role which requires individuals to complete new business transactions in an accurate and timely manner.

Accountabilities:

* Accurately process new business transactions with the goal of meeting or exceeding service standards on a regular basis
* Placing of policies, receipt of funds, verifying signature requirements in the administration systems and completing post decision tasks
* Responsible for processing the pre and post transactions for Life, Critical Illness and/or Disability applications.
* Creating or replacing new documents in OnBase to create accurate contract packages; may require updates to Aura for post decision tasks
* Investigation of outstanding placing requirements at predetermined intervals.

Qualifications & Competencies:

* Understanding of individual insurance business processing cycle
* Strong knowledge of new business systems, such as Onbase, AURA, NBN, OnBase, CIS, Move Money
* Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
* Sound working knowledge of Windows (Word, etc.)
* Knowledge of relevant insurance products, business rules and legislation
* Understands how to access information from vendor websites
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and  responsibilities
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Strong decision making and problem solving skills
* Shows initiative; Excellent team player
