Description

The successful applicant will work under and report to the CEO of the Hatchet Lake Development LP (HLDLP) and/or other persons as designated by the CEO, and will form part of the HLDLP management team.
Duties will include:
1. Management of a newly created Construction and Equipment Services Division (C&ESD) of HLDLP.
2. Promotion of public, First Nation, corporate, and government awareness of the HLDLP C&ESD with a view to increasing work opportunities and revenues for HLDLP, including bidding on relevant contract opportunities.
3. Supervision of HLDLP equipment operators, maintenance staff, and construction personnel.
4. Overseeing operation of the HLDLP maintenance shop and compound.
5. Overseeing operation of the landfill and ensuring compliance with all relevant landfill regulations.
6. Overseeing a Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure contract, including construction and maintenance of an ice road, barge operations, airport runway area maintenance, and community road maintenance.
7. Designing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with a work order system for HLDLP resources.
8. Ensuring daily completion of equipment check lists, to minimize repair costs and maximize safety.
9. Ensuring that all maintenance of HLDLP property and equipment takes place on a timely and efficient basis
10. Purchasing necessary materials and equipment for HLDLP C&ESD operations
11. Designing and implementing relevant ongoing staff training programs and safety systems
12. Equipment operation, equipment repair, and other hands on work, as ability and time permits.
13. Oversee Caribou Transport LP activities in Wollaston
Qualifications:
>    Ability to supervise and mentor staff and work as part of a management team.
>    Punctuality and reliability.
>    Good interpersonal skills, including with co-workers, clients, and community members.
>    Preference may be given to applicants with 1-A drivers licence, equipment operation skills, and/or mechanical/construction skills
