Our client one of Canada's leading organizations has an immediate opening for a 2nd Class Power Engineer at their facility near
Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
Key accountabilities for the 2nd Power Engineer
include:
Abiding by, and ensuring those under his leadership are abiding by all safety precautions, government regulations and company policies and procedures related to the safe operation of the department and in compliance with TSSA regulations
Shall, under the direction and supervision of the chief operating engineer or chief operator, be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the plant, including the logbooks in accordance with Government and company policies and procedures
Supervise other employees on their shift who are under his or her control and
May, subject to company policies, perform maintenance and operational work on the premises on which the plant is situated
Manpower scheduling
Handling all personnel issues with the involvement of appropriate personnel as required
Working in conjunction with the maintenance department to ensure equipment reliability
Maintain close contact with the shift coordinator to maximize quality production in a safe manner
The ideal candidate for this position would
possess:
5+ years power engineering experience Certification as 2nd Class Power Engineer.
Supervisory experience would be considered an asset
Working knowledge of OH&S requirements

- Water and waste plant operators
- Petroleum, gas and chemical process operators

- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Provide information for maintenance plans to ensure that maintenance and production objectives are met
- Identify, investigate, correct and document potential environmental and safety problems
- Establish work schedules
- Co-ordinate work activities with other units
