Description

As a Nurse Practitioner you will have the opportunity to exercise leadership, judgment, independence and put into practice advanced nursing skills.  The Primary Care RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based interventions, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves working within the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region nursing program objectives, guidelines, and policies and procedures; building partnerships, completing community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.

To qualify, you will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Registration with Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association as RN(NP)
- The incumbent must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse
- Required to participate in ongoing related education as specified by the employer
- To function as a member of an inter-professional collaborative health team
- To consult and refer to appropriate health care team members when necessary
- To collaborate with other members of the health team to ensure quality of care for the client
- To utilize both formal and informal consultation processes with other professional and community groups in the health region including the physicians and clinic support staff, Home Care, Public Health, Mental Health, Dietitian Services, Alcohol and Drug Addictions Services, Physiotherapy, Ambulance Services, school staff and the RCMP
- To demonstrate strong communication and public relations skills
- Level C, Basic Cardiac Life Support and ACLS certification
- Knowledge and respect for aboriginal health concepts and the ability to work in a cross-cultural setting
- Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License
- The successful candidate shall be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
