Essence Recruitment is collaborating with Transall, a growing transportation firm in their search for a Senior Accountant to report to the President.

Responsibilities:
Oversee accounting in all intercompany activity
Ensure results are submitted monthly in line with deadlines
Support staff in accounts receivable and payable; responsible to oversee preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
Lead on planning, implementation and delivery of internal audit process and manage relationships with external accountant
Supervise completion of individual company statutory accounts
Document the accounting treatment of companies and corporate partners as it impacts Company and accounting on a monthly and annual basis
Assist President in area of technical accounting policy
Provide leadership and training in technical accounting guidance
Ensure effective management and development of direct reports
Education and Experience
Post-Secondary education including an Accounting certificate or diploma. Professional Designation is an asset
3 yrs. plus in a public accounting setting along with 5 yrs. experience dealing with full cycle accounting including reporting and consolidations.
Supervisory experience within an accounting department
Experience with TMW Systems an asset
Transportation industry experience an asset
Experience working in a multi company arena preferred
