Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer and Power Engineer Supervisors, this position is responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities include:
-Operate and maintain all steam boilers in the mill and acid plant as per the Saskatchewan Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act
-Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of associated equipment in the sulphuric acid and ammonium sulphate crystallization plant, as well as the oxygen plant, and utilities.
-Documentation and control to meet operational guidelines and environmental standards
-Continuously improve operation efficiency and product quality
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
-Must have a 2nd class power engineers certificate (3rd class certificates may be considered with completion of one half the second class requirements and commitment to completion)
-Assist with the training and development of the Power Engineer Trainees
-Previous experience working in a chemical plant and acid plant are considered an asset
Crystallization experience is considered an asset
-Excellent record keeping skills
-Ability to work with both the operations and maintenance departments
-Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and with DCS distributed control systems
-Ability to operate in a leadership role within the power engineer group
-Ability to demonstrate leadership skills amongst the crew
-Excellent troubleshooting skills
Work Location & Schedule:
McClean Lake, 7 days in/7 days out- 77 hours work week
