Description

Working at Olysky's Head Office located in Humboldt, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and appropriate internal controls.  Reporting to the Controller, this presents an opportunity for advancement in the succession plan for the Controller position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger balancing, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.  

Responsibilities include:
Inventory and capital assets management
Ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Assist in implementing new systems and control procedures as well as integration of information flow with parent companys financial systems.
Assist in the timely reporting of weekly and monthly financial information.
Oversee accurate and timely processing of transactions by finance team.
Supports budget and forecasting activities.
Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
Work with the Controller and Director of Finance to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
Other duties as required
The successful candidate will have or be working towards a professional designation and/or equivalent experience.  Excellent organizational, communication, computer and analytical skills are required.
