Working under the general direction of the Manager of Taxation and Assessment, the Taxation Officer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the taxation system by ensuring that taxes and local improvement levies are billed and recorded properly as well as carrying out tax billing and providing assistance to other staff concerning taxation functions of the City. If you have the following qualifications, this opportunity will be of interest to you!
- Diploma of Applied Arts and Sciences in Accounting (SIAST) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two (2) years' related experience, preferably in municipal assessment and taxation
- Working knowledge of computer software packages (i.e. Microsoft Office and Crystal Reports)
- Demonstrated experience with large financial production type application software (i.e. Utility Billing or Tax system)
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships
- Fully Bondable
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
